Measuring the Screw Length for a Post Bound Cover
Put your pages inside the covers
Hold down firmly
Hold a ruler flat to the spine and read measurement
Screw length will be the same as measurement or 1mm smaller (bigger will be too loose)
You may need to use bases & extensions to make up the correct size
If you don’t have your pages use the following formula. This is a rough estimate- all paper stocks differ in thickness no matter the gsm. To be certain ask your printer to physically measure a stack of the paper you are using.
Divide your gsm by 1000
Multiple by your page number
Add your cover thickness
Example: measures 19mm needing a 18mm screw
Example: if your spine measures 19mm use an 8mm base &10mm extension for a total screw length of 18mm
