WOrkshops

Learn how to make books by hand, using traditional & contemporary techniques & tools. Learn tips for binding at home, skills to utilise The Binding Studio’s open bindery sessions & take home a beautiful, handmade book.

There is a range of workshops on offer, for a variety of skill levels. You will be taught by Louise James- an artisan in her field who has been bookbinding in commercial & teaching capacities for 20+ years.

The bindery is nestled in the Waitakere Ranges, West Auckland. In warmer months the doors are open to let the sounds of native birds accompany your workshop. During winter, the studio fireplace will keep you warm & cosy while you create.
